The Sikh Khalsa Day Parade or Nagar Kirtan commemorates the 1699 birth of the Khalsa by Guru Gobind Singh ji, embodying values of equality, service, and courage. These processions feature kirtan, floats, and free food (Langar), celebrating the birth of sikh community, which began in Punjab has expanded in to major annual celebrations in Canada since 1979.
