Thunder Bay Waterfront Trail Roll & Stroll celebrates community, movement, connection, and place, inviting people of all ages and abilities to get outside and experience Thunder Bay’s waterfront in a new way
Set along the shores of Lake Superior, this 4km round-trip event brings people together to walk, wheel, or run the trail, highlighting the importance of accessible, active spaces that support healthier people, stronger communities, and a deeper connection to the land and water that define our city.
Gather your friends and family and be part of moving us forward, together, at Roll & Stroll Thunder Bay’s future Waterfront Trail this International Trails Day.

Saturday, June 6th walk starts at the Children’s Playground in Marina Park starting at 11 am proceeding north to North Water Street Overlook to arrive by 12 noon;

Free, family-friendly community event;
-
4 km round-trip, non-competitive procession along the Waterfront Trail;

Open to all ages, abilities, and mobility types;
-
Participants can walk, wheel, run, or roll at their own pace;

Participants are encouraged to arrive a starting location by Active Transportation and/or Public Transportation; Please find Downloadable Transit Pass to present to Transit Driver

Parking is limited in Marina Park;
-
Participants are encouraged to park in the Waterfront District area (Downtown Port Arthur) if possible and walk or roll across the Pedestrian Overpass, Camelot Street Level Crossing or Pearl Street Level Crossing.

Participants can walk, wheel, run, or roll at their own pace;

Please bring your own refillable water bottles;

Food & beverage provided by sponsors at North Water Street Overlook;

Cultural presentation by the Sisters of Turtle Island Drum Group led by Fort William First Nation Elder Sheila Decorte;

History of Roll and Stroll 2 km. route provided by Thunder Bay Museum (see Waterfront Trail [Trail Heritage section]) of this website……… watch for signs along route!

Children’s scavenger hunt along the route;
Additional Activities:

Water Ceremony by the For the Love of the Rivers Water Walkers at the Spirit Garden in Marina Park starting at 9:30 a.m.

Information booths at an Open House in the Baggage Building from 2 pm to 4pm featuring trail and community initiatives with a focus on Active Transportation, Public Transit and Waterfront Development.
