We’re so excited to share that Lappe Recreation is partnering with Lappe Ski Centre to host our FIRST ANNUAL LAPPE FAMILY DAY!

 Monday, February 16, 2026

 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM

 Lappe Ski Centre

Bring the whole family out for a day packed with winter fun, fresh air, and community connection!

 Outdoor Winter Fun

 Open Family Skate – Lappe Rink

Hosted by Lappe Recreation. The heated skate shack will be open for warm-ups, and an outdoor porta potty will be available.

 Half-Price Skiing

Courtesy of Lappe Ski Centre — a great chance to hit the trails at a reduced rate!

If you’ve wanted but have never skied the trails, this is a wonderful opportunity to try and see the adventure that awaits here in our community.

 FREE Snowshoe Trail Access

Bring your snowshoes and enjoy the beautiful trails at no cost for the day.

Please wear snowshoes only, as regular footwear can damage the trails.

 Sliding Hill Fun

Bring your sleds and sliders and enjoy the hills with family and friends!

 Outdoor Bonfire

Warm up by the fire in the parking lot near the chalet, safely overseen by the Lappe Fire Department.

Feel free to bring a chair and blanket to get extra cozy (after getting your free hot chocolate from inside).

 Special thank you to BJ Kapush Contracting Ltd. for providing the fire pit and wood for our outdoor bonfire. 

 Warm Ups & Indoor Activities

 Chalet Open to Everyone

Step inside to warm up and enjoy family-friendly activities.

 Free Hot Drinks

Free hot chocolate, coffee, and tea will be served in the chalet courtesy of Lappe Recreation.

 Family Activity Tables

Colouring sheets and fun activities will be available for kids and families to enjoy together.

 Sock Puppet Crafts

Led by Willow Springs — come get creatively inspired and have some fun inside the chalet with our artistic community team.

 Food & Treats

The Nordic Café, run by Willow Springs, will be open 10 AM – 2 PM serving:

 Finnish pancakes

 Hot dogs

 Soup & chili

 Sweet treats

 Hot apple cider

 Try Cross-Country Skiing!

The Lappe Nordic Ski Club will be offering:

 FREE Cross-Country Ski Rentals for families to try the trails

 Great selection of youth equipment (ages 5–13)

 Limited adult sizes available

 Volunteer instructors on hand to help with balance, technique, and getting started

 A fun outdoor handball game in the stadium area for everyone to join!

This is a wonderful chance to get outside, try something new, and spend meaningful time together as a community
