– The highly anticipated Thunder Bay Chill International Invitational tournament is set to kick off at Tbaytel Field @ Chapples Park with opening games and ceremonies scheduled for Wednesday, July 30th, 2025.

We are thrilled to announce that teams from Manitoba, Southern Ontario, and Italy will be joining us for this exciting event. The Italian team is led by none other than former professional Serie A player Paolo Poggi, who has made several recent visits to our city and is eager to showcase his team’s talent during the showcase event.

This inaugural event promises to bring together local and international talent, as five teams will compete in an exciting round-robin series. Fans can look forward to a thrilling week of soccer action, culminating in medal games and closing ceremonies on August 5th, 2025.

Not only will this tournament showcase competitive play, but it will also contribute to our community through the “Let’s All Play” fundraising campaign. Proceeds from the gate will go towards supporting the newly announced Indoor Turf facility, which will provide additional opportunities for youth soccer development in Thunder Bay.

The Thunder Bay Chill International Invitational aims to showcase the talents of athletes from various regions while fostering community spirit and promoting youth soccer. The tournament will not only feature competitive play but also celebrations that highlight the passion and dedication of players, coaches, and supporters.

"This event represents not just a competition, but a celebration of soccer and community that will feature our top youth players from both our respective top clubs that our city provides. The opening ceremonies will feature special guests, entertainment, and activities for soccer fans of all ages. As teams gear up to showcase their skills on the field, the Thunder Bay community is encouraged to attend and support this fantastic event.
