Northwestern Ontario Aviation Heritage Centre (NOAHC) will be hosting this special event in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the RCAF. It will feature 4 North American Harvard 1V's built at the Canadian Car and Foundry in Fort William, Ontario, in the early 50's. They served as trainers for the RCAF post WWII. Two are from the Canadian Harvard Aircraft Association in Tillsonburg, ON, one from Lethbridge, and one "The John Magee", from Gatineau. These historic aircraft will be on display for the public at the Thunder Bay Airport at the Wasaya Ramp. The aircraft are expected to arrive on Friday, July 18. Rides will be offered on three of the aircraft but many are already booked. Several of these booked flights are with the family members of former Harvard pilots and have special significance to them. If anyone is interested in purchasing a ride, they can contact John at jdhill@tbaytel.net. In keeping with the 40's - 50's theme, attendees are encouraged to dress up in costume. There will be 50's themed music by the Ray Coran Band on Saturday from 12-1pm. There will also be info. booths, door prizes, and the McGillivary Pipe Band March on the Wasaya Ramp from 12-1pm. Sunday, will have 50's classic cars, and Harvard merchandise available. The cost is by donation at the door. Check out www.noahc.org or call Denise at: (807) 473-7727 or (807) 939-1302
